Sunday 1/23/2011 6:00 A.M. update: As of this morning weve picked up 0.3 new inches of snow from a combination of the weak low pressure passing through and cold air diamond dust. It was cloudy last night for a while, so Im assuming thanks to the clouds we didnt get too cold; Id reset the memory thermometer and the lowest it recorded was 0.0 F.

 

Some details from the 6:00 A.M. observations are below:

New Snow: 0.3 inches
New Liquid: 0.03 inches
Snow/Water Ratio: 10.0
Snow Density: 10.0%
Temperature: 2.8 F
Sky: Clear with diamond dust flakes
Snow at the stake: 18.0 inches

 

 

Event totals: 0.4 Snow/0.04 L.E.

Monday 1/24/2011 6:00 A.M. update: We picked up another tenth of an inch of the same sort of diamond dust snow that we saw yesterday morning. Its certainly been our coldest morning of the season so far, -16.6 F as of 6:00 A.M. with presumably a bit more to go. Ill see what the memory thermometer says when I get home later today.
